Dan Karlsson
Chair of the Board
Dan Karlsson was appointed Chair of the Board in April 2021. He has been Deputy Chair of the Board from March 2016 to March 2021 and Member of the Board since 2014. Dan has been partner at Access Partners since 2006. Prior to founding Access Partners, Dan Karlsson was a Director of Enskilda Securities’ Helsinki Branch which he joined in 1999 from Morgan Stanley & Co London.
Mikko Heinonen
Deputy chair of the Board
Mikko Heinonen was appointed Non-Executive Director in August 2006. Mikko has been Partner of Hannes Snellman Attorneys Ltd since 2003 and the Senior Partner since March 2020. He is a member of the Finnish Bar Association as well as the New York State Bar Association, and he holds legal degrees from the University of Turku and Harvard Law School. Mikko also serves as a non-executive director or secretary of the Board for several Finnish public and private companies.
Aarne Luukko
Member of the Board
Aarne Luukko was appointed the Member of the Board in April 2021. He has been Group CFO of Aho Group 2018-2024 and CEO since December 2024. Prior joining Aho Group, Aarne was Pankaboard’s CFO between 2013-2018. In addition to Pankaboard Board membership, Aarne holds Board positions in Finnish private healthcare and tourism sector companies.
Leif Frilund
Member of the Board
Leif Frilund was appointed the Member of the Board in May 2024. Leif Frilund is CEO of Walki Group since 2007. Before joining Walki, Leif was CEO of the Swiss based BTG Group. Leif has held a number of senior positions in the Ahlstrom Corporation in Finland, Germany and Switzerland, including as Division President and member of the Corporate Executive Team. Between 1995 and 1998, Leif was Managing Director of Albany Fennofelt Oy and Marketing Director – Dryer Fabrics Europe. Leif serves as a non-executive director the Board of a Finnish public and several private companies.
Jari Tikkanen
Member of the Board
Jari Tikkanen was appointed the Member of the Board in May 2024. He has worked over 20 years in three of the four divisions of Metsä Group in roles varying from finance to mill manager, director to SVP, including business line, production and technology responsibilities. He also served as a CFO in Pankaboard 2009-2011.
