Food trays and skin pads
With a wide range of substances and thicknesses reaching up to 1mm, Pankaboard can offer cartonboard alternatives for your folded tray applications and skin pad solutions. We have developed materials specifically for these end-uses and they are hard sized by default. The strength properties have been optimized for the demanding converting steps and to withstand the cool conditions in the whole supply chain. Naturally all Pankaboard cartonboards are made of 100% fresh fibers to guarantee the highest purity and product safety.
PankaLux Plus
PankaLux Plus is the new GC1 cartonboard optimized for folded trays and skin pads. PankaLux Plus is always supplied as hard sized to make it perfect fit for chilled and frozen food packaging. Optimized strength properties of PankaLux Plus make it excellent choice for demanding folded tray applications. PankaLux Plus is available from 310 g/m2 up to 535 g/m2 (1.01 mm).
PankaKraft Polar
PankaKraft Polar is a fully coated multilayer kraft back board. Its outstanding visual properties of the coated top side, in combination with the rustic brown reverse, makes it versatile material for various food packaging and tray end uses. PankaKraft Polar has all layers hard sized as standard for good fit for frozen and chilled end uses. Since January 2025, the cartonboard is also available with wet strength properties on request. PankaKraft Polar is available from 275 g/m2 (0.47 mm) up to 500 g/m2 (0.95 mm).
PankaKraft Amber
PankaKraft Amber is an uncoated and unbleached multilayer kraft board. It is a bulky and rigid cartonboard with natural brown appearance on both sides. PankaKraft Amber is especially designed for food packaging, trays and underlays. PankaKraft Amber has all layers hard sized as standard for good fit for frozen and chilled end uses. The cartonboard is also available with wet strength properties on request. PankaKraft Amber is available from 250 g/m2 (0.50 mm) up to 450 g/m2 (0.93 mm).
PankaTray Kraft
PankaTray Kraft is an ovenable board and the newest addition to the kraft product family. Made from 100% high-quality kraft fibers, PankaTray Kraft delivers exceptional strength, rigidity, and reliability for ovenable trays, including both moulded and folded designs. PankaTray Kraft is available in the exceptional substance range of 250–550 gsm, and combines performance, sustainability, and processability.
