In 2008 Pankaboard launched an investment program to improve quality consistency on BM2.
The first phase was implemented in end of 2008 and featured investments in a state-of-the-art quality control system on BM2. As a result significant improvements were achieved in quality consistency and profiles (moisture, basis weight, thickness).
The program was further continued in end 2009, when part of the drying section was up-graded on BM2. 9 drying cylinders were rebuilt to achieve improved energy efficiency in combination with further quality consistency improvements.-
The investment program will continue in June 2010, when additional 10 drying cylinders will be further rebuilt. The achievements are already significant and will result in further improved profiles, both in MD and CD direction. Also the two-sidedness will be improved and reduced to a minimum, which will enhance curl control down the value chain.
